Community-based organization and families are invited to engage in a worthwhile discussion regarding children’s behavioral health and special needs in Central and Southern Illinois on Wednesday, April 21 from 12 - 1:00PM.

The Family Leadership Council (FLC) is a group of youth, parents and community partners joining forces with the Blue Cross Community Health Plans (BCCHP) to create opportunities regarding issues in children’s behavioral health. The goal of the FLC is to create a team of advocates to better understand the experiences of families accessing public services on behalf of their children.

In 2021, the FLC meetings will focus on specific health topics affecting children and families across the State of Illinois. Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center Clinical Director, Emily Legner, will be speaking on Suicide Prevention and Brittney Hale from Prevent Child Abuse Illinois will be presenting on Child Abuse Prevention. Following their presentation will be live Q&A and an open discussion on ways to improve access to care for Illinois families.
